Damien Haskins is originally from New Boston, Texas, he traveled to Oregon to play collegiate football at Oregon State University. Damien received his Bachelor’s in Science in Healthcare Administration from OSU and after graduating in 2016, he then began his professional career in the long-term nursing home field. Damien developed a passion for service at a young age, while he watched his own mother spend her life working as a CNA in long term care facilities.
In 2017, Damien spent a year at Edward C. Allworth Veteran’s Home as an Administrator in Training. During this time, Damien developed a passion for working with the Veteran population. Damien spent 2018-2021 working in the for-profit health care region as an administrator for an 80-bed facility. In 2021, Damien was promoted to regional administrator, where he managed a 192-bed campus and oversaw four additional facilities across Oregon. Damien gained experience, knowledge, and defined his educational skills, specifically in leadership development, operated a 5-star facility, and achieved the Bronze and Silver Baldrige Excellence Awards. In 2022, the facility Damien managed was granted the opportunity to have a site visit for the Gold Baldrige Excellence which is a great honor.
Damien enjoys spending his free time with his family, which includes his wife and daughter. Damien also loves experiencing the great outdoors that Oregon has to offer from the coast to the mountains. Damien is not a veteran himself, but he hopes to give back to the Veteran community as this is his true passion in long term care.
