Terry, having been honorably discharged from both the United States Army and the Oregon National Guard, is a Veteran. A graduate with honors from Western Oregon University, with a major in Social Science, she has dedicated her post-military adult working life to assisting others in a variety of areas. She has worked in the Albany Energy Assistance Office, directing outreach and in-home eligibility assessments, to identifying resources and strategies to help clients with reducing the impact of energy costs through client education, weatherization, and money management instruction. In addition, Terry has been an integral part of the assistance program infrastructure for Linn, Benton, and Lincoln counties — coordinating the distribution of food through the Food Share Program, and providing overall leadership and vision for the CSC Housing and Energy Services Department, and for Community Housing Services. Terry joined the Veterans Care Centers of Oregon Board in 2014 as a local area representative immediately prior to the opening the new Veterans home in Lebanon.
