Robert began his long-term-care career in 1958 as an orderly caring for Veterans at the Veterans hospital in Salt Lake City. After completing his graduate degree in 1965, he held a series of positions in state government healthcare administration, culminating with operating the Idaho State School and Hospital — a 550-bed facility. In 1978 Bob, transitioned to the private sector, holding senior leadership positions in multiple regional and national health care corporations prior to founding Westcare Management, Inc., in November of 1987. During his career, he has owned and operated businesses in virtually every segment of the healthcare continuum — from Home-Care Services to State Hospitals. Bob has served the profession by serving on or chairing various state healthcare association boards, including Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and the American Health Care Association in Washington, DC. Robert served for eight years in the U.S. Army Reserves, and was a founding member of the Veterans Care Centers of Oregon board of directors.
