Administrator/CEO – The Dalles

Ex Officio Board Member

Cheryl joined the Veterans Care Centers of Oregon in the fall of 2005. Prior to joining VCCO, she had a diverse career in healthcare that included spending 10 years in hospital nursing — primarily in the ER, five years as a nursing instructor at Boise State University, five years as VP of Sales and Student Services for Professional Health Education Services while working concurrently for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, three years in the field of ICF/MR supervising the care of geriatric clients, and finally 14 years for Prestige Care as a Director of Nursing Services and Administrator. Cheryl’s professional life has been driven by providing the kind of high-quality care that she would want for her own family. She was able to do just that, caring for her father — a WWII Veteran, at the Oregon Veterans Home until his passing. Ever driven to raise the bar of quality, in 2014 she guided the OVH in The Dalles in being awarded the American Health Care Association Gold Quality Award, an award that only 24 facilities nationwide had earned in the 18 years that the program had been in existence.
